Am I allowed to mail in my own transcript?

I preemptively ordered a few official transcripts from my CC in early January, and schools have now started to ask me to send them in. I’m hearing that official transcripts should come directly from the school or college, not from you. Am I allowed to simply address the sealed envelopes to the schools and mail them in myself? Will it look bad? The seal on them is not broke and they are definitely still official. If I can send them in myself, is there anything I need to know about addressing it?

If they clearly are official sealed transcripts, yes you can mail them. I’d suggest sticking them in another envelope first so they don’t get damaged in the mail.

Why send them yourself when it is usually done by the school?

Like I said, I just ordered them preemptively before any schools had asked for them. Plus, I don’t entirely trust my CC as they’ve messed up plenty of times before when it came to important things.

Does your HS use Naviance? Usually the transcript, recs and school report are sent this way.

The OP is talking about a CC, not a HS. The CC should use some kind of automated system to send the transcript.

@selkinorcc‌ Exactly, the CC should use " some kind of automated system". I don’t understand why your college would mess up your transcript. I’m also dual enrolled, and when i send in my transcript, I did though an online service. Now I;m not suer if they mailed electronically or postally. But it was quick. However, your school itself may take some days to add it your file.
If you still insist, yes, you can send the transcript yourself, as long as it’s not obvious and it’s doesn’t have your home address but rather the school’s address from the sender. Just know that, the college is not dumb enough to notice that the mailed transcript has a “written address” at the corner of the envelope; they will simply ask " why couldn’t the school send the transcript itself or send it electronically?"
