I haven't heard anything from Parsons after receiving a due to a large volume of applications this year we have placed you on the waitlist. OMG

You're not alone....Im in waitlist purgatory too:( Im still waiting on USC CNTV to accept me....I hope!!

I wonder if anyone has heard. Sorry you're in the same boat. I thought by now thing would be falling into place one way or another but here we are!

what is your back-up school?

I was accepted into 3 other schools but I only applied to Parsons as the one art school because it's the only one I really, really was passionate about. Looks like a state university will be my home.

well if that's the case then just go to a state university for the one year, and apply again, because if you are passionate about art, a state university won't cut it. On the other hand, their liberal art courses will transfer, so you are saving some money that way.

I got accepted to Parsons, but I'm not going. So you might have my spot!

hmmm. well I'll know today or tomorrow. I wish.

slygrl,

You're in my thoughts. Things happen, but don't give up! art is worth it--your art is WORTH it.

Parsons can't take anything away from that.

Best wishes for all art waitlistees...

Collegeish,
Well I got the skinny one. thanks for your thoughts. movin on now.

Oh. I'm sorry to hear that slygrl.

It will be okay. Why not apply to another art school? Many of them have open admission throughout. You should be able to find a good match.

Not any single art school is worth giving up your art. That's my opinion... 'cuz many of the ppl you will encounter even at the best schools will be elitists, manipulative, and stingy (looking at the fin. aid folks)... does not mean you shouldn't attend for art.

It's just more difficult than something like biology.

I hope you find your place. Best.

i honestly would love to see the stuff you submited for parsons that got you waitlisted. I'm saying this because my portfolio was not strong, and i hated and still do hate anything regarding planning and drawing from the real life, and i still got in last year and reaccepted this year.
