Am I an International Applicant?

I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate board, but I couldn't think of a more fitting one.

So here's the story, I
-was born in the US in 1995
-moved to Canada in 2000
-gone to school in British Columbia since
-hold Canadian Citizenship
-hold American Passport
-plan on applying to several US universities.

So as the topic says, am I an International Student? Or can I apply as an American citizen despite having resided in Canada for most of my life?

Thank you for your help.

It doesn’t matter that you have a Cdn passport. You still have US citizenship unless you formally renounced it. If you’re applying to US colleges, then it’s vastly better to be a domestic rather than Intl applicant. You’re lucky.

You are a US applicant for financial aid purposes. This is a very good thing. For the FAFSA and the CSS Profile, you will need to convert your financial information into US $ at the exchange rate of the day that you file.

Depending on the college/university that you apply to, your file may be sent to the international student office to be read by the person responsible for interpreting applications from Canada. Colleges and universities receive applications from US citizens educated outside the country all the time, and they will have a system for dealing with your paperwork. Don’t be afraid to drop an email to the admissions office and ask how to proceed.
