Am I basically going to be looking at scholarships for most of my "aid"?

If I understand your question, you are asking if you could get a scholarship after freshman year if you do well that first year. Unfortunately most merit scholarships are given to incoming freshmen with high stats, as an incentive to get them to attend.

It is possible to pay your way through school, although you may not like the alternatives. You could attend a community college while working. They are often inexpensive, and if you do well you may be able to transfer to your state university for the last two years. Everyone who files a FAFSA is eligible to take out federal student loans ($5500 the first year).
