<p>Do that, and stop worrying, because it’s an optional letter of recommendation, and it’s not required.</p>
<p>I’m sure that dchow is right, but do you you really mean to say that your reference wrote a letter that said “You’ll surely want to admit Bob” without giving any clue as to who “Bob” is? That might seriously erode the writer’s credibility as a reference.</p>
