Hi, I am in my second semester at a community college right now. I am going there basically bc I fooled around in highschool(graduated from private hs w/ 2.9gpa) and really just never concentrated on my studies until now. I am a female majoring in computer science and earned a 3.6 gpa in my first semester and plan on graduating in one and a half years with hopefully a 3.5-3.7 gpa.
Lately, I've been reseraching colleges and am just so confused. Do universtities even take community colleges seriously? I am very worried about my future and want to make a good living, but am scared that I wont get into any good universities for computer science. I've been looking into RIT, University of Rochester, Rutgers, OSU, Rice, Carnegie Mellon etc. Am I setting my standards too high though? I want to go to a school that will give me an edge against competition when I graduate, however I just dont know if it is possible.
So basically my 2 major questions are:
What colleges (besides what I mentioned) would be of interest to me and my ability? And, would provide me with a solid background in CS and a good paying job when I graduate. Also, are the colleges above out of my league?(be honest)

I dont know if this makes a difference but this is my course load.......

1st semester
calc 1, c++programming 1, writing101, macroeconomics, comp. info systems

2nd semester(present)
calc 2, C++ programming 2, money and banking(200 level), writing102, visual basic programming(20- level course)

Looks like you got a nice list of reaches and matches and safeties. Apply and hope for the best!

only one you have the slightest chance in is RSI

what would you say are my matches and safeties?

You are probably in OSU and Rutgers. I would say Carnegie Mellon CS is a huge reach, though.

No, you're not being reasonable. A reasonable person would conclude that receiving a B for ANY reason is a death sentence. The government and the colleges you plan to transfer to are probably sending out agents to kill you as we speak.

YOU SHALL BE CRUCIFIED ON THE CROSS OF JOURNALISM FOR DEFYING THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL OF THE PERFECT TRANSCRIPT
