Am I competitive? (UF, FSU...)

I’m near the end of junior year. My GPA is 3.7 unweighted (91 average). I’m not sure of the weighted, but I currently take 2 AP (literature and art), 1 honors (Spanish), and one college class (psychology). So, it should add some weight. The rest of my classes are regular (math, chemistry, history). I requested to take 3 AP next year, senior year (AP psychology, biology, and language), and one honors (Spanish again). So that’s 5 AP’s altogether, two honors, and one college class. I am in foreign language honors society & stage crew for junior and senior year. I plan to work and volunteer this summer. Could I get accepted into the top colleges in FL? (UF, UFC, FSU…) I also haven’t taken the SAT yet, but my PSAT in October was an 1120/1550.

I would say UF would be a bit of a reach, FSU would be at level, and UCF you should get in. UF focuses a lot on extracurriculars and shows a strong preference to AP/IB students, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get in. I think your one downfall is not having any volunteer hours until now. Colleges tend to like students who have had at least one thing all four years. But ultimately, I think you should be fine! You seem like a good candidate, and I guarantee you’ll get into one- just apply smart. I would suggest UF, FSU, UCF, USF, and UNF, but there are plenty more! Also, for any university with rolling admission- APPLY EARLY. Your chances are MUCH higher! Good luck!
