I enrolled in college for fall of 2016 as a freshman; however, due to health reasons I left halfway through the semester to take a “health leave of absence,” meaning I withdrew from the university due to my health and would be allowed to reenter in fall 0f 2017 if I decided to. I’m thinking now I might want to apply somewhere else closer to home, and I’m wondering if I’d be considered a transfer student or a first time student considering I haven’t actually completed a semester of college yet and didn’t receive any sort of grades (just “W”) from the college I was enrolled in.
Each college you may apply to can have its own rules as to whether you apply as a frosh or transfer.
Will they see that I withdrew from another university? (Also, would I have to send a “transcript” from the other even if there’s no courses on it?)
The national student clearinghouse will tell them that you did enroll at a college.
