I've lived in California most my life. We have an address there and my parents pay taxes there. I have a US passport only and my SSN was registered in California. But I've been going to and international school in China for my high school years and I plan to graduate in China. Am I considered In-state for California?

I too live overseas though my hometown can be considered as California. I am considered to be an in-state applicant since my parent's residency is California. To prove that your parents are a resident in California, I do believe they either have to own a house or pay the state's taxes, there are more conditions and qualifications however.

Yup, my parents do own a house and pay taxes! We have someone there manage it for us and they go back twice a year to..I don't know..sign appropriate documents?
Any other input would be appreciated.

Then I guess you can be confident that you're considered a California resident. In the UC application, there is a question that asks the residency of your parents. I put that down as California and the fact that my mom has physically been in California for the last 3 years. From the scholarship offers I'm getting, I believe I am considered in-state despite the fact that I live in South Korea.

Alrighty, thanks.
Any others?
