I'm worried I don't have what it takes to get into Columbia.
I have mostly As and Bs, but my school doesn't inflate grades or anything. A 3.0 is the same as a 4.0 at public school. My college counselor said the Ivy Leagues will recognize our school name and realize why my grades seem lower.
I'll be doing the full IB diploma thing and I'm in all honors (that's all that is offered at my school) classes.
I'm in debate and doing pretty well considering I just started. I'm hoping to be an officer as I become an upperclassmen.
I will be going to debate camp this summer at UCLA.
I took the ACT practice test - I don't know my scores yet though.
What else should I be doing?

For starters, you should be doing things you are passionate about, not things you think will look good on a college application. You’re a freshman! Work hard, keep your grades up, and commit to two or three things you enjoy (but don’t worry about whether colleges will like them).

I didn’t start wondering whether or not I was on the right track until the summer after my sophomore year. At that point, I had a clear idea of potential strengths and commitments, so I just had to organize and really focus on them.

…you been in high school for half a year. chill out with the college stuff lol…

at any rate, you seem on the right track, but it really is too early to tell anything (wait until at least you’re a junior, then post…:D)
