Ok, so I’m in the 8th grade from the Philippines. I really want to get into the Ivy League or MIT or Stanford or some university in that level, in college. I decided to download the free official SAT Practice Test from the CollegeBoard website. I answered the test and scored myself based on their scoring criteria. I got scores of 610 in Critical Reading, 650 in Writing, and 680 in Math. total of 1940. Is that average, good, or great? I don’t wanna spend money to take the actual SAT test yet since i’m just in the 8th grade and it’s pretty costly in my country (although it’s available). So, I’m relying on the practice test for now since it’s free of charge. So is 1940 on the practice test any good?
Am I doing well?[610 in Critical Reading, 650 in Writing, 680 in Math in the official practice test]
That’s very good for 8th grade, but a lot can happen in the next three years, so I’d advise you to resist focusing on the SAT and instead read a ton and get (actually) educated. You’re off to a good start, but at your age, actual education is paramount.
Keep in mind that the test you took is the old format SAT. There’s a new format starting in March.
Unfortunately there is not much accurate material to work with to prepare for the new SAT.
Fortunately you have plenty of time to wait for new material to come out.
Marvin100’s advice to get actual educated is excellent advice.
Ooooh yeah for you the SAT is changing so try to practice with the new material, which can be found on the College Board website. That’s a really good score for an 8th grader though.

@pshsnoobgamer Despite the general consensus on CC that you’ll never amount to anything if you score below a 2300, your score is great, especially considering that you’re a young international. Keep working in school and you’ll have a good enough score to get in anywhere by the time you are of age.
