my midyear report isn't included in my official gpa, but obviously they receive it and it'll have a big effect

I'm a legacy at Chicago and a good writer. my recs are surprisingly very good. math one, which the counselors were equally surprised by (he said they said that he made me sound like a diamond) (and I was told he mentioned looking forward to reading my research in the future)
the other was english, who thinks I'm one of the most intellectual, not as good as first one though

my school typically sends 3-10 / 100 to ivies per year
many to Ucla Berkeley, other UCs and USC
and other liberal arts (but only usually a couple to the very top ones)

I applied to the Berkeley Ucla ucsd ucsd ucr uci
Williams swarthmore Chicago
reed USC nyu wash u cmc middlebury bu bc northeastern

I've had some hardships that I did talk about
I think I put it in the additional comments section of the common app, uh oh I just realized I uploaded an entire essay to that section

I’m also white male
applying for financial aid
in state for UCs
extracurriculars all look the same on paper unless yours r rlly extraordinary, and mine aren’t
played piano at a rehab center did some sports
started one club member of others
took 3 Ucla courses and got As
thought of offering, with my high-scoring friends, sat tutoring to those in need of it, but never went thru with it

so there’s more but u get the idea, just avg stuff

i really don’t think you have to worry, since you have a 2400, which only around 100 people every year get… and you should try explaining your poor GPA in your college essay, but don’t try to sound like a whiner

Since you’re in state for california state schools with a perfect SAT score, I don’t see you having trouble getting into any of those schools except maybe Berkeley.

With legacy to Chicago, you are a high match.

I don’t see you having trouble with Northeastern, BU, Wash U, NYC, or Reed either.

I would say Williams, Swarthmore, USC, CMC, Middlebury and BC are all reaches for you.

wait
u saw the title, right?
something happened and I ended up with a 2.7 senior gpa
there are reasons for this but I don’t know if the colleges will care
