Am I doomed?

I consider myself to be a decent candidate for some top schools, as I have great extracurriculars and a stellar GPA. More about my high school stats here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1028517-insert-catchy-title-here.html
But….I have one weakness: test scores.
Right now, my SAT scores are
630-math
630-cr
770-writing
My sat 2 scores are
Lit-650
US History – 690
I took my SATs again in December, for the third time, and am waiting for scores.
The reach schools I am applying to are:
Northwestern, Tufts, Cornell, Brown, Amherst, Williams, Vassar
I think I did well on my December SAT, and might have managed to get above 670 on the math and reading (cross fingers).
If I do receive those scores, then will I have a chance at once school, at least, on my reach list?
If I don’t manage those scores, then am I completely out of the acceptance pile?
Thanks!

any opinions at all?

[The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org) has a list of test optional colleges and universities. Why don’t you take a look at it and see if you can find some more good options for yourself?

What is your unweighted GPA?

Right now, your schools are reaches for you. Schools like Cornell don’t count the Writing score. (I’m not even sure how much the other schools count Writing).

You need some match and safety schools. You may have dreams to a top, top school, but those are hard to get into EVEN if your M+CR rose to - say 1400. If your M+CR stays below 1400, I would say that your chances are lowish for those schools.

What is your intended major?

What is that you like about those schools besides their prestige?

What is your budget? How much will your parents pay?

I agree with Mom2collegeKids.

I can’t tell you for certain your chances of getting into your selected schools with your score, considering it is a bit low, but it can’t hurt to apply.

Just in case, I would definitely encourage looking into/ applying to some match and safety schools as well a your reaches. Although they might be not as prestigious as you are aiming for, there are certainly very good schools that will accept you with those scores. Your score is actually a very good score for most universities, it just appears below par because of the high status and selectivity of the schools you are applying to. I know it is hard to imagine yourself in a university that isn’t exactly what you had planned on originally, ( less prestigious, different location, etc.) I am struggling with this myself, but there is some school that you’re going to be accepted to. And who knows? it might just turn out to be a good fit after all.

Goodluck!
