I know my freshman years grades sucked and that has affected my total gpa HOWEVER there is a significant increase in GPA since then..do you think colleges would consider this growth as an advantage??

i would say you have a good shot at stanford (7 or so i guess).
SAT2’s? you need to take like 3.
you have a very impressive resume and i think you should also apply to schools like Columbia, Princeton, MIT, and so on.

An upward trend is great but at top colleges most did well throughout highschool. While Stanord does not use freshmen year grads when recalculation high school, they still look at where you rank.

Stanford is a major reach but you should easily be interested in the others. Maybe add some schools inbetween like Harvey Mudd and Berkeley.

no one is a match for stanford. a kid in my school this year had a 4.9 GPA, member of every club the school offers, 2400 SATs, and 800 on each subject test, every AP class, and got flat out denied from stanford.

With that said, you should be good to go at the virginias.

well it’s great that you’re dreaming. admissions is very very bizarre, with so many different idiosyncrasies. your app doesnt seem too unique really. a few of my friends, who’ve done absolutely amazing things–and i mean quite unique–were flat out rejected from stanford. they had perfect test scores, had USAMO and USABO, one was even Intel semi-finalist, and stanford did reject him (although he got in everywhere else).

keep dreaming, however, because you’ll never know until you apply
