Am I Eligible For Merit-Based Aid?

Hi,

I'm applying to some US universities this autumn. I'm a homeschooled student, and also international. I was wondering - can I apply for merit-based aid?

If so, what type of aid can I apply for (e.g. scholarships)? And how will being international and not having a GPA affect my applying for merit-based aid?

Thanks.

Yes you can. It may be more difficult considering your study and gpa situation, but merit money has very differing standards depending upon the institutions to which you apply.

You will need to check each college for their policies. Some provide NO financial aid (need based or merit ) to international students. Some provide financial aid, but it is limited for international students. Some have the same policies for international students as others. You need to check EACH school.

I’ve checked the policies for each school regarding international students, but I can’t find much information on merit-based aid specifically. I was wondering if the fact that I’m international as well as homeschooled would (generally speaking) be a hindrance.

Try E-Mailing the financial aid offices of those schools.
