Hi! I graduated this past June and I am taking a gap year. I was wondering whether or not I am eligible to apply for scholarships that are for high school seniors?

For colleges…you would be eligible for scholarships for incoming freshmen.

For outside scholarships…you would need to check the policies of the scholarship awarding group. Some are for incoming college freshmen, and some are specifically for seniors in high school.

As long as you don’t take any college classes this year anywhere, then many schools will still consider you for scholarships. What are your stats?

However, I know that my kids’ undergrad will not consider any new test scores. They will only use the ones taken by fall of your senior year.

I should actually say that I am deferring a year and I will not be taking classes until Fall of 2015 but I am wondering if I am ineligible to apply for outside scholarships that are geared towards high school seniors.

You need to check the requirements for each scholarship. Some are only available to current HS students
