Am I financially eligible for QuestBridge programs?

Hi all,

I received an e-mail today from QuestBridge informing me that the application for National College Match is now open. I was very surprised to hear that I could still apply for the program; I missed the College Prep Scholars deadline and was under the impression that applications for National College Match were closed.

However, after reading more about it, I don’t think I am financially eligible for the program. I’ve read some posts here on CC from those who have been selected as Finalists, and they have incomes and assets much lower than mine. I’d love to know from others if it is even worth filling out the application. Here are my financial and circumstantial statistics:

Location: rural Midwest
Ethnicity: White (European)
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: AGI ~$75k; ineligible for free or reduced-price lunch
Number in Household: 3
Siblings: 0
Home Sale Value: $135,000
Debt on Home: $25,000
Parent’s Education: Father-Master’s from public state university, Mother-Bachelor’s from public state university
Parent’s Relationship Status: Married for 18 years
Extenuating Cirumstances: nothing significant

Thanks,

CJ

Your income seems too high to me. According to the QB site, most people are under 60k, and you have no siblings and own a home. Keep in mind that I’m not Questbridge, and I don’t know for sure! The application is for people who face some kind of financial difficulty, and if that describes you then you should email QB and get their opinion.

My parents make 71k and support my siblings and I(total of 7 in the family)…your family makes 75k with 3 people…you don’t qualify for free and reduced lunch? They said 65k for a family of 4 so answer your own question.
