One of the first application questions is “Did either of your parent(s) or guardian(s) graduate from a four-year college in the U.S.?” My mother got her Master’s through an online program (Kaplan University) last year. Does this count as a 4-year college in the US?
If she received a masters degree, then it also means she received a bachelor’s degree from somewhere. So no, you are not considered a first generation. Your mother has been educated.
She got her bachelor’s degree outside of the US so I wasn’t too sure.
