Hi!

I am having quite a rough couple of weeks considering the decisions from my ABSOLUTE DREAM SCHOOL are coming out sometime this month. (However we don't know when, which increases my anxiety level by a million)

So I kind of wanted to reassure myself and see if my chances are good.

I was born in France, have lived in US For 7 years now. I am officially bilingual, and extremely conversational in Spanish. I am a white female.

I have a 1890 on SAT

640 on Spanish, and 800 on French SAT II

3.666666 GPA unweighted (my school doesn't do weighted)

I have taken 8 AP classes, and have passed all of the exams.

I am the Vice President of the DECA chapter at my school.

I was the business pathfinder winner of my school

Lastly, i selected two of my most amazing teachers to write me recommendations, that I know will be over the top!!

Please please please, someone calm me down and tell me, my chances are good!

**university of Miami

Also, I have over 400 hours of service!!

Not going to help you out at all… considering the fact that you were born in France…

University Of Miami - Reach

it’s kind of a reach, but you have a decent shot

With strong essays I’d say high match - low reach. Your test scores are kind of hurting you but you may get some leniency with your CR and writing scores since English isn’t your first language.

Just take a breath and it’ll all be okay. I was rejected from my first choice a couple weeks and I thought it would ruin college for me, but I’m already feeling optimistic about other schools now. If you look around this website there are plenty of first choice rejection stories- yet they’re all happy wherever they end up. Don’t let some adcom’s 20 minute assessment of your high school career affect you.

You’re a strong candidate and it’s good to be excited, just make sure you’re prepared as well. Best of luck.
