Am I going to get into college with a 2.9 gpa?

I just got my transcript it says I have a 2.9 unweighted gpa and a 3.4 weighted. My SAT is 1820 650 Writing, 560 Reading, 610 Math. I'm really worried now. I live in North Carolina and I was thinking about App State or UNCG, or Charlotte but I don't know if there is any hope anymore. I've taken 13 honor classes my first three years and I'm taking 4 ap classes my senior year. Also one of my grades is a 96 from an online course and I was told it would effect my gpa but in the transcript it shows that it did not. What do I do about this and would it make a difference? Also are there many colleges in N.C that would accept me?

Anyone have any experience???

I don’t know much about schools in NC, but I know people who have gotten into one of their respective state schools with a lower GPA than 2.9. Don’t worry too much, you’ll get in somewhere!

Alright, hopefully I can get in somewheere.

If anything, just apply to a 2-year community college, do well, and then transfer to a state school!!
You’ll still get the diploma you want, and you’ll save a lot of money, too.

If I’m transferring do they still look at my high school gpa? Also could I transfer after my first year ?

OP, there are great colleges that have open admissions. Please consider those. What major are you interested in?

There are some amazing colleges out there that accept over 80% of applicants. You are going to find somewhere amazing to go to school.

Luckily my class was fixed and my unweighted gpa went up to a 3.07 and my weighted is now a 3.6. 3.07 looks a lot better than 2.9!
