If I withdraw my english (critical thinking;english 1B) class this semester are they going to revoke my decision if I already been accepted? Im really stressed out about this but I have no choice as of now to withdraw. Im planning to transfer to UCSD. Your comments are appreciated.

hmm...since its a GE requirement they might.

Im looking into the same thing, but the class Im dealing with is irrelevant to my major and wont have any affect on my IGETC cert, so hopefully getting a D in it wont get me revoked.

Do u know anyone that had there admission revoked for something similar?

I am pretty sure they will, I am not trying to scare you anything, but that class is very crucial and is one of the basic requirements they want you to complete.

Why are you withdrawing anyways? Talk to the teacher, tell him/her your situation and work something not. I strongly suggest you to not withdraw, just try to get atleast a C. Call them and check to make sure.

yeah i would call them and check.

im still hesitant to call because im afraid they will tell me im screwed, although my counselors at school told me today that i should be fine :/

When I called and asked them about something similar, they said that they occasionally offer students the chance to attend a summer session to make them up. I don't think they'll reject you.

i dont want to retake a random elective...

Do you want to go to college?

english 1b is GE requirement.. and if you withdraw.. you will get your admission revoked unless you call up and work out some conditional stuff..

would it help me in the slightest way if I submit my SIR before letting them know about a bad grade?

lol, i dont know, but that sounds like a good plan!

Im really depressed man. Im withdrew my English class, and im probally getting C's in both major re-reqs because I W'd so late. Davis says there fine with me withdrawing english and re-taking it over the summer but I have to earn a B in Biology which im not confident about. Do you think they'll revoke my decision if i get a C in biology? i wrote a letter to san diego and still havent heard back from them. Man Im a scrub.lol

dude that sucks...good luck.

Just assume that they WILL reject you if you get a C in biology. Then take a few minutes to get stressed out....then get motivated and start studying like a madman.

Wow, I'm surprised that Davis is letting you complete your English class in the summer. Must be one of the very few UC's that let you do that...I know SD and LA won't allow that.

I was in a similar situation last month when my English class was cancelled. While I was frantically searching for a class to replace that one, I found a 4-week class that met 5 days a week for several hours each day that ended in mid-June (summer sessions usually end in mid-july and later, so mid-June is pretty damn good, since you don't have to submit your final transcripts until July). The counselor that I spoke to at SD strongly encouraged me to include that in my appeal. I also asked my professors to write up a little progress report to help support my appeal, a character profile kind of thing. Fortunately, I found an online English class at SMC this semester, so I didn't have to turn in my appeal.

Have you talked to your biology professor about your "C"? It sounds like Davis' decision to let you take your English class in the summer is contingent upon you getting a "B" in biology. You should definitely talk to your professor and explain to him your situation, and hope that he empathizes with you.

Good luck, tlu3013. I know it really sucks right now...I hope things turn in your favor.

I had the same condition before..im going to UCLA and i asked them can i withdraw my english 1B class in spring and take over again in summer, they said I CANT otherwise they will revoke my admission for sure.

Kouama123,

yeah seee thats the things I hate my biology teacher. He doesn't even think I belong univiersity and he even recommended that I stay at CC one more year..Well I have no where else to go if davis rejects me for getting a C.

xxpatzz:

Thanks for the info! Good to know! :) Do you know what GPA we're supposed to maintain for LA? The provisional contract doesn't give me a specific gpa.

tlu3013:

Oh no. That bites. I don't know what else to say...I've been at CC for a LONG time, so I know how you feel about not wanting to stay one more year there. Did you call Davis about the possible "C"? Or email them...? Maybe they'll continue to work something out with you...?

I don't know, I really feel for you, I do...I wish I could be of more assistance.

kaymoua1123

np. i think we have to at least pass all the classes....as long as no D and F i think we are fine.
