Am I going to have a future???

ummm I'm an asian, immigrated to the US when I was in 9th grade. I didn't know anything about AP or honor classes until my junior year. i've been put into all regular classes my first two years of high school and was abled to maintain straight A's and an average of 95 or above. I don't have a lot of EC's or leadership skills and my SAT isn't that good. I'm going to be a senior this fall and have made up a college list, so I would like to hear my chances of getting in, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm thinking about going for pharmacy, Rutgers, U of Pitts, and Duquesne all have 0-6 year pharmacy program...what are my chances?

Definitely bring up the SAT scores. If you study enough it's possible to make a sizable jump in your score. Explain on the application why you didn't take honors classes the first two years.
Also...
what do you predict for AP scores?
How many volunteer hours do you have?
Do you have a specific interest or hobby such as music, math, science, art or film making you could focus on?
...

Try the ACT.

I think I could get 3's and 4's for the AP tests....
I am interested in music, I play several instruments
from a Chinese traditional instrument, piano, flute, violin, guitar, to xylophone
ps. I forgot to mention I participated in the school talent show twice (9th grade and 11th grade..different schools) got 1st and 2nd place. would that help me in any way??
for the volunteer hours, right now I don't have any. but I 'm about to start volunteering at a local hospital. I think I could get around 150 hours and with national honor society I could probably get around 200 hours by december.
Is that too much?? or should I do more hours than that??
and with the hours and everything, how am I looking for the colleges I've mentioned???

The stuff you added makes you look better (it would be best to not tack on a ton of volunteer hours junior summer, but that's a lot better than doing none at all!). I don't think most of those schools require recs, but you might consider sending one in anyway (most likely it can only help) - any teachers that could write you a great one? Anyway, the SAT scores seem like the only really sore spot. And yes you will have a future :)

thx...anyone else?

hours, 100 and 150 don't have too much difference, i don't think, in the eyes of the admissions offices-though I really have nothing to certify this than what I've seen.
Try to aim for 4s and 5s....explain any 3s.
Music, thats excellent what you hacve. Make it a major part of your essay and try to get some part of that in your recs too. Talent show winning doesn't hurt either.
like I said before, study for the SATs. I recommend the Barrons prep books or Kaplan.

bump bump bump

My turn! hehe

Well, I'm gonna be a junior in August. I so far have a very crappy SAT score. I have ~1550. I am the top 5 in all of my classes. Freshmen and sophomore year, I had a 4.0 GPA, weighted it should be ~4.17. I have 5 clubs that I am in and I am an officer in one of them.

What do you think my chances are to get a 2000 my the 2008 March test date? What should I do?

Also what are my chances getting into:
University of Southern California
University of California- Berkeley
University of Michigan- Ann Arbor
New York University
Farfetch: University of Pennsylvania

Extracurricular activities sophomore year: (All I am planning to continue till graduation)
Operation Smile

achang--
Try the ACT. It's accepted by all US colleges and scores correlate more w/ your knowledge of grammar and math than random vocab or your ability to play mind games. My friend scored a 1800 SAT but got a 32 on the ACT (which is like a 2140).

Even if your original ACT score isn't higher, it's an easier test to control your score with b/c it tests you on very specific knowledge. Spending a weekend w/ the Princeton Review book for the ACT brought my 27 PLAN or 30 ACT (2010 SAT equivalent) to a 34 (2300). I didn't discover this until I had spent countless hours, money on books, a prep class, you name it, trying to raise my 220 PSAT (like a 2200 SAT) and not being able to raise it one point. Not an expert, just my experience.

hey randomname25 thanks for sharing!!! i'm going to try the ACT for sure, and hopefully it'll be a lot better :)
