Am I Good Enough For Ivy?!?!? Help!!!!!

<p>hi my name's joe. i am a sophmore with the following grades so far:</p>

<p>freshman year- 94% average. GPA: 3.9875 RANK: 15 out of 205 SCHOOL TYPE: private</p>

<p>sophmore year (1st quarter)- 97% average. GPA: 4.0 RANK: top 5</p>

<p>these are my extra curriculars:</p>

<p>advanced science classes at UC (test required for acceptance); student pilot (will be pilot before applying); fencing; guitar whiz and taking lessons; i tutor physics; i'm writing a book on quantum physics (will be done before applying); i'm working on leadership positions in my youth group as well. that's all i can think of but i'm very involved and i have tremendous respect from my teachers.</p>

<p>i took all honors classes. i received first honors each and every quarter. i was awarded several academic achievement awards other than that.</p>

<p>however, i have a problem. due to severe health problems, i missed much school and i decided to withdrawl and homeschool myself (as i had before high school). my test scores are all very high and the admissions officer at princeton said home schoolers are very welcome.</p>

<p>if i continue as a home-schooler throughout high school, what do you think my chances are at the following colleges:</p>

<p>princeton
princeton ED
cornell
cornell ED
MIT
MIT ED
and other ivy league colleges</p>

<p>your stats look pretty good. your ECs are incredible... good luck with that physics book. what science classes are you taking at UC?</p>

<p>I don't believe the ivies allow ED, they allow EA, but you aren't allowed to apply anywhere else. I think - it may just be Harvard.</p>

<p>thank you. when i was in the 6th grade i audited a college chem. class and i did very very well and the professor who i know real well will give me a great letter of rec. i'm sure. right now i'm in a group that meets there and does physics and stuff but it's hard to get in. i teach myself undergrad and grad level physics at home. I LOVE SCIENCE! lol. weird though i'm catholic too and they conflict sometimes.</p>

<p>you teach yourself physics!?!?! holy crap you must be a genius... i hardly know what i'm doing even though i'm in two physics classes... you'll get into ivies for sure!</p>
