My parents are encouraging me to apply to Ivy league schools, but I'm not sure if I would get in with my grades and abilities.
I took the SAT I last year and got a 1650. I'll be taking it again this year and also the SAT II for german and spanish. I'll take the TOEFL as well. I'm a senior right now and 16 yrs old. I lived in Brazil for 11 years, in Texas for 3 years, have been living in Mexico for 2 yrs, and am about to get a certificate for completing an intensive 2 year-german course. You can say I can speak 4 languages. And supposing I finish high-school with a 9.2 GPA, are there any chances I could get into Harvard for example?

How could you get a 1650 on the SAT last year, if the new 2400 one didn't come out until this year? Last year's maximum SAT score was a 1600.

I took the new one in april 2005.

Um... I don't think there was a new SAT in april 2005. But anyway, I don't want to ruin any dreams, but you'd have to have some truly mind-blowing outside qualification to get into an Ivy League school. 1650 is far below almost all scores in Ivy League applicant pools.

The first testing for the New SAT was March 2005. So um....you mean March?

Not to burst your bubble, but a 1650 won't get you anywhere with the ivies. People whine over a 2000 and apply for ivies...what do you think will happen if you apply with a 1650?

You are a good student, I'm not doubting that. Take the TOEFL and see what happens.
