I will chance back so please leave a link for me to do so after you have chanced me. Thanks!

I think depending on your academic rigor UCSB will be somewhere around high match. USC will most likely be a reach for you but that could be helped with stellar essays and other aspects of your application besides tests/ gpa.

Hey thanks for chancing me! you can definitely get into UCSB. For USC, i think your extracurricular will help you. It is a stretch but with that school, they consider more than just tests

I think you have a really easy chance at getting into UCSB. You have great grades and EC’s which is really good, and will better your chances at getting into USC.

I think you’ve got a solid shot at UCSB. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in with your profile. I think USC is definitely a reach school just because it’s so competitive. But best of luck :)

Ok thanks guys! I’ll chance back! For my USC essay do you think it’d be better to talk about how naturally talented I am at public speaking/debate or of how I had to deal with a horrible co captain and the things I learned from that situation (you’ll have to cooperate with people you disagree with throughout your life)?

Your SAT and ACT are firmly in the bottom quartile of admits. Keep in mind that USC admits a lot of athletes and artsy people (film, music, etc.) with low stats.

3.59 is definitely below the mean of enrolled and admitted, although about average for applicants. This should tell you something.

Because you are statistically inferior, you need to write a stellar common app essay and a supplement that clearly demonstrates why you want to go to USC. What major/school are you applying to? Why?

As far as UCSB, your SAT is slightly below average but your GPA firmly below. Your ECs are strong (probably much stronger than the average SB student to be honest)… UCSB really is not that selective of a school. I would expect you to be close as long as your personal statement is good.

For USC I’m majoring in Business Administration at Marshall School of Business with hopes of getting a dual degree program with Cinematic Arts and USC is the only school in the nation that offers that program.
