Am I headed in the right direction?

I am currently a sophomore at a nationally recognized performing arts school in Nevada, and attended a top math/science school my freshman year (AMSAT).

GPA: 3.125 UW/ 3.425 W (I know it's not great)

ACT Composite: 29

Freshman Classes: Intro Computer, French 1, English 1 Honors, Algebra 1 Honors (AMSAT), Adv-Study Math, Tech Theater 1, PE 1, Adv Biology H (AMSAT), Adv Study Science, and Health Education

Sophomore Classes: French 2 Honors, French History Honors, English 10 (Pre-AP) Honors, Journalism, Geometry Honors, PE 2, Chemistry Honors, and World History Honors

My Junior year course load will be: AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, Algebra 2, US History Honors, French 3 Honors, French Literature Honors, and Theater

My expected senior course load is: AP Micro/Macro Economics, AP Environmental Science, AP Literature and Composition, Prob/Stats Honors, US Government Honors, AP French, French Government Honors, and Student Aide (Kinda need it with all of those AP's!)

EC's: GSA member all four years, Junior Class President, President of French Club (2 years), Drama Club Secretary (1 year), multiple theater productions, FBLA member (1 year), Varsity Quiz Bowl (2 years), wrote for the school newspaper

Volunteer: Helped kids in elementary school with after school programs (SafeKey), Habitat for Humanity, Opportunity Village, Animal shelters (sorry I don't have hours, as I'm only a sophomore and the hours will be much greater than what they are now.)

Jobs: Summer job at a comic book store, sold newspapers during the school year on sundays

I really want to attend San Diego State University as a French major. Please let me know what my chances are and what I can do to improve them! Thank you! Also, I will chance you back if you ask.

Well first off, one must know that since San Diego State is a California State University (CSU), they only consider GPA, Test Scores, and Residency in their admissions decisions. Not sure where else you want to apply, but for SDSU at least, your volunteer work and EC’s wouldn’t matter. Nevertheless, your EC’s and Volunteer work look pretty good to me! Your ACT score is pretty solid as well being that the average is around a 21. However, know that SDSU is considered pretty selective since it’s really popular to apply to, so the average admitted scores and GPA will go up. Also, you’ll want to calculate your GPA based on the CSU a-g requirements that you completed after freshmen year. There’s a really helpful website that actually provides an A-G Requirement CSU gpa calculator. Good Luck my friend!

[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - GPA Calculator](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

My CSU/UC gpa is 4.33
Is this good?

Why the big jump from 3.425 w/gpa to 4.33? are you sure you calculated only the A-G requirement courses? if you did, 4.33 is an awesome GPA!!

Yeah, my counselor gave me my csu gpa a while ago and I had just forgotten to include it in this post. I do really well in cores and tend to slack off in electives that dont really interest me

Also, she said that CSU’s only calculate your gpa based on 10th grade + and i messed up my freshman year, so that’s what the huge difference is
