I am an Indian(from India) but I am an US citizen and I live in New Jersey
Could you tell me how I stand for the colleges listed as reach, moderate reach, etc.

I’d say you look all set, personally. Your SAT I score and AP scores are high enough. Plus you’ve taken a lot of AP classes which is great.

I’d say definitely for Brown and John Hopkins. The others you’d probably get into too. I’m not sure about Duke though. You’d probably have a good chance.

Ya…you are a strong applicant. Your test scores rock (but then again I basically got the same scores so Im biased = D). Obviously, your grades are good and so is your rank. Your ECs are probably average for the lower ivies and your awards are about as good as your ECs. So below is how I’d “predict” your college outcomes:

Brown- Low reach
Columbia- mid reach
Cornell- high match
Duke- low reach
Georgetown- match
Johns Hopkins- high match
TCNJ- dont know
Penn State- In/Safety
UPenn- mid reach
Princeton- mid reach

Disregard the above. Nobody can tell you that you have a definite acceptance at Brown and Hopkins. Your numbers are good but not stellar to the extent that you’ll get into those schools for sure. SAT scores and AP scores, while certainly a plus, don’t factor in as much as you think. The fact that you have done lots of AP-level work is good though.

You’re pretty much the meat of the Ivy League applicant pool (i.e. the ‘typical’ Ivy applicant but don’t take offense at how mediocre it sounds) so how you distinguish yourself from the crowd will depend largely on your essays and recs.

Your ECs seem kind of scattered. They dont really show passion or interest in any one area other than the leadership/volunteer stuff that all Asians will have in the pool you’re competitive in. Buuut, your GPA looks great, and your SAT score is also veryyy good, so you should be fine there.
I’m not sure but I’d guess your chances of getting into Princeton go up since you’re instate, if they work anything like the UCs…
In/low reach at the first 8 schools you listed…a lot of them seem like safeties. Very very very good shot at UPenn, mostly because of your test scores and rigorous classload. Reach at Princeton.
Chance me back if you have time? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html

A hook is something that colleges specifically look for that makes you stand out from the crowd. It can be anything from being an URM (under reported minority) like being Hispanic, to having one of your parents die and you living with a sibling, etc etc…

Your SAT scores, GPA, and courseload are all up to standard (excellent, actually!),but you need to make sure that there is something that distinguishes you from all the other high scorers, especially since you are Indian and are from NJ. (If you were from an underrepresented state and ethnicity, it wouldn’t be as much of an issue.) You should work on narrowing your interests to something you’re really passionate about, and excel in it! That being said, you have a chance at all of the schools you’re applying to, more so at Georgetown, Cornell, and JHU.

Pretty much agreed with what’s said above. Your stats are awesome, your course load is up to par at any school, your ECs are pretty decent but you don’t have any outstanding hook. Therefore:
Brown- Low reach/mid reach
Columbia- mid reach
Cornell- high match/low reach
Duke- low reach
Georgetown- match
Johns Hopkins- match
TCNJ- not familiar
Penn State- safety
UPenn- mid reach
Princeton- reach (as it is for basically anyone)

Brown- Low reach almost match
Columbia- low reach
Cornell- high match
Duke- low reach
Georgetown- match
Johns Hopkins- high match
TCNJ- safety in
Penn State- In/Safety
UPenn- mid reach
Princeton- mid reach

you’re qualified for all of them
be wary of being kicked out based on steryotype
ivy league has countless people with great SAT score’s who volunteer in hospitals and win science olympiads
all you need to do is convey that you are intrested in these things, not that you’re just doing it to fill up your application

I’d say you have really good chances at most of these because of your stellar grades and test scores. Schools like Princeton are more of a gamble just because they are reaches for everyone.

your stats are very impressive!
i’d say that tcnj and penn state are safeties. georgetown and maybe hopkins and cornell are fits. and brown, columbia, duke, and upenn, i’m going to say are reaches only because of how competitive they are. you certainly have the grades and scores to get in, but just remember that there are plenty of other people with those stats applying to these top tier schools as well. good luck!!!
