Am I in trouble?

I recently emailed undergraduate admissions about some mistakes I made on the uc application (I thought I’d better be safe rather than sorry).

Basically, the changes were:

 1. On the family income (not the official fafsa one, but the uc application one), I messed up with the digits (ex. 10k instead of 100k). My fafsa is still right and my offer letter is too.

I chose not to participate in a few ec’s / community service that I placed on my app second semester (3 minor clubs, no officer positions or anything). I did explain that I replaced those clubs with some other ones that interested me as the year went on that weren’t on the application.

I talked to my counselor and she said I shouldn’t worry about these changes but I emailed them over a week ago and it states on their webpage that it takes 3-5 days for them to respond so I’m a bit worried that they might find something wrong and rescind or something.

Would it be a smart idea to call them tomorrow if I still don’t get a response by then and how serious are those changes?

Thanks.

those are very small changes. nobody will care whatsoever about the community service/extracurriculars.

the worse that might happen wtih the fafsa, is that they'll force you to refile one correctly. since it's not the REALY fafsa, nothing bad will come of you messing up. relax :)

You didn't take the EC's you said you would?!?!!? Crap dude, I would call asap to explain to them why not, they don't like it when you pad your application. You may very well get your offer rescinded. Am I serious? not at all. it's fine, don't worry about it. There is no chance they'll rescind your offer. I hope I thoroughly freaked you out for a moment.

you're fine. the only changes they care about are changes in classes and such (eg dropping AP Chem). they don't ever even check on ECs unless they notice something very sketchy. so don't worry about it, and good luck at Cal!

Smallz you high or smth?

Between a US President who went on Primetime TV and said "I never had any relationship with that woman", a MIT admissions dean who kept talking of honesty for 20+ years and lied on her resume to get the job and the ECs on your UC app, your mistake is insignificant. But in a way it's great you cleared it up. Otherwise, if you ever try to get elected as a senator, the media is going to dig through the scraps of paper lying around your house and throw mud at you.

Don't worry, UCB is going to ignore these kind of mistakes...

Yeah seriously dude if I was an admissions officer I would actually commend you for being honest because its common knowledge that your EC's are not able to be verified.

I know some idiots in my school who totally lied about EC's. Other, more marginally "honest" people would join clubs up until application time and then quit second semester or just not do anything for the club.

You shouldn't post these small things on CC because people (like me) will try and screw you up with sarcasm!

UCPD will come to your home... with tasers.

Thanks everyone.

I didn't think it was such a small issue (maybe because I'm paranoid haha). Just the fact that they never responded worried me a bit I guess.

Anyways, looking at the responses were really comforting so I'm just going to wait out for the email and get ready for cal.
