my passions are languages, cultures, history etc. i want to major in international relations at whatever college i end up going to. i think my essays are good, and my recommendations should also be great because the teachers really love me.

any thoughts about my chances at these schools?

i've also done piano for 6 years and dance for 9......

anybody at all?

You should probably be nothing short of a lock at American. Georgetown and Tufts will have to like what you're doing if you write them a nice essay about what you're trying to do, especially the international relations stuff for Tufts. Not saying you'll necessarily get in there because of it, but I imagine it helps

Haha, that really is funny, our stats are so similar! I've actually been learning German outside of school for the past 6 months and I'm hoping to spend a gap year studying in Germany before I matriculate.

Ok, so I'm really bad at this but I'll do it for you, my East Coast twin, jk:
JHU-yeah, I think so, what with ED it should help any "lowness," relatively speaking, in your GPA

Tufts-I'm sure you probably have visited and have shown an interest. It's kind of a toss up, but I'm sure if you show you really wanna go there, it is a match and you can just hope, like me!

GWU, American-Don't know much about them, but I think they are good match schools, it seems likely you'll get accepted there, but no guarantees

Georgetown-Are you applying to the college or SFS? This is definitely the most selective you're applying to. But esp if you apply to the SFS, you've shown a lot of interest in IR, and that's good. Unfortunately, that's not really the case for me! I mean, they're not gonna break down the door offering you admission or anything, but I'm sure you'll be seriously considered!

Good luck, and I hope you get accepted to all of them!!! Let me know, and we can celebrate together, hopefully!

i honestly hope that in a couple months we're laughing at all this...

bumpity bump bump

anybody have an opinion? please?

last time i'll try doing this...
bump

Tufts(Stats are low), Georgetown(ditto), and UVA(it's OOS) are huge reaches, but I think you have a great shot at American and GW. Good luck though! Hopefully JHU will pull through

^^^Use your essays to show you love for international relations, this should help your chances a little

^ Ummm, brownorbust, you must think Tufts is harder to get into than it is, a 1410 is fine for Tufts. He has a good shot.

cough she cough
but thanks brownorbust & duffman28 for the insight.

oops I read the SAT scores wrong

^ Hehe, I was going to say, but yeah, I think you have a good shot RD to Tufts, G-Town is more of a reach, GW and American are pretty much locks, and UVA is a reach for OOS.

thank you. anyone else?
