^ ok thx, you know where i could find a list of top under-grad business colleges?

I also have another question, does taking AP classes in senior year count, because I'm going to start working my butt off senior year (i know...it's a bit late). If taking APs in senior year doesn't really matter then I probably won't take them and just focus on my GPA in honors

bump.................

Go to princeton review, look up these universities,go to the admissions page, look at the mean GPA and the 75% on the range for SATs. You will see that your stats are well below average for almost all of the schools on your list. Add in the lack of ECs...
Are you an underrepresented minority? If not, you need to alter your wish list of schools dramatically, so that you will get into college when you apply. There are many universities out there that would love a very good student like you. I think BU is the most likely on your current list, keep that one on and look for more colleges at that level. Good luck.

Could you possibly be doing some EC's that you aren't thinking of as EC's? What do you do with your time after school and on weekends? Any activity, whether in school or out of school, can count. Church activities would count, for example.

^ T.T...yeah i guess my wishlist is too unreasonable for me...but would it improve my chances to get into them if i did better my senior year? ill start doing more ECs (clubs, sports, volunteer and such) and I'll also try to take a few AP classes and boost up my GPA. Or am I just too late for all of those?

Is UCLA in state for you? Even if it is, it's still quite a reach with those stats, and they don't look at senior grades until after they accept you unless you are on the bubble. And they don't superscore, so taking the SAT means you need an overall gain, not just in the areas you didn't do well in before. Also, to state the obvious, UCLA isn't in New York, nor does it have a straight business undergrad major. So if you are thinking of dropping some of these reach schools I'd say UCLA is a good candidate.

A quick search of CC found this thread:

So sad...Good Luck?

^ yeah i gotta pick some matches and safetys, but i dont know any good business schools that could be my match or safety T.T

Just go online and find a list of business schools. Or, if worst comes to worst, you can go to a normal college, and then try to transfer?

What you're going to have to do is apply at a lesser known university but one that has an impressive business school. Some I would think would be better shots would be Ohio State, Indiana, Pennsylvania State, and University of Minnesota. They all have top 20 business programs. However, I think you should go to their respective websites for their business programs and see whether or not you fall within their ranges.

UCLA

New York University

Rice University

Boston University

University of Michigan

University of Rochester

ucla, nyu, rice, michigan arent ganna happen with 3.3 gpa especially if you consider that the average gpa for ucla admitted students are about 4.1-4.2. also average sat score for ucla is 2010 and thats AVERAGE. with your gpa you would need 2400 or even 2500 if you are out of state. what i recommend is you go to CC, do well there, and transfer unless you want to go to top 100 college instead.

Hi Voodoo

Rochester is possible... my grades from freshmen to senior year was downhill...however my course load was definitely much harder. I had a terrible case of senioritis and in my first semester senior year i got a F in AP Calc and D- in AP Stats...my cumulative GPA at the time before the F and D- was a 3.3...and i got my acceptance letter from University of Rochester ...
i think Rochester really looks at your essay...so definitely spend some time writing some drafts.

btw i only had a 1890 SAT...800 Mandarin SAT II and 700 Level 2 Math SAT II

also Rochester does not offer a business degree...i applied as an economics major...
i ended up picking Indiana U - Bloomington...their business school Kelley School of Business is top notch...and IU is very easy to get in to...make that your safety school

I am not sure if you are a California resident---if you are---you may wish to consider applying to UC Merced or UC Riverside or one of the Cal State Universities. Your stats, even with the holistic review, will not bode well for UCLA.

If you haven't already, I'd definitely try to get a job or volunteer a lot this summer. You could probably work as a camp counselor, at a soup kitchen or local hospital, etc. if you have a lot of hours towards something this summer it would help the EC situation some.

3365: T.T is that really true? Am I really doomed for college and only thing I could look forward to is a community college...I'm cry

ifailedcalculus: Yeah I was looking at IU as well, but I highly doubt that could be my safety school lol. My stats are pretty similar to yours with an exception to the SAT (which I have a 1810 atm and will retake and hopefully get a 2000~).

alizarda: Yeah I have a volunteer job at a hospital already and I'm working (not a lot) at my friend's uncle's convenient store if that counts

Ok, here's my new list of colleges:
- Indiana University- Bloomington
- NYU
- CUNY Baruch
- University of Michigan
- Rochester Institute of Technology or University of Rochester (I dunno the difference)
- Fordham

I'm need a few more to choose from especially some safetys

bump...............
