Am I late for spring 2011 admissions?

I'm looking at
CUNY - baruch
Stevens institute
NJIT
NYIT
fpr sprong 2011. I have my TOEFL scores and I'm taking up GMAT soon. I need to get my reco letters and transcrips though. Is it ok if I just send in my application by oct 1. Will they reject my application coz I just reached the deadline?

You’ll have to look at the schools’ websites, since details like application deadlines can vary. For example, it appears that NJIT’s Spring Semester deadline is November 15, while Steven’s is October 15:

[NJIT: Admissions: Graduate Admissions FAQs](http://www.njit.edu/admissions/graduate/graduate-faqs.php)
[Stevens Institute of Technology: Graduate Admissions: Apply](http://www.stevens.edu/sit/graduate/apply/index.cfm#4)

If your application is not complete by the deadline it will be rejected. The definition of “complete” will be found somewhere on each school’s “how to apply” web page.

Thank you for that. I know I ‘technically’ have the time, but I was wondering if schools expect us to send in the applications earlier or something like that.

If they have rolling admissions they may have filled the incoming class by the application deadline. Otherwise, you can send it in on the deadline day and you’ll be fine. They won’t reject you out of hand. If they expect you to submit the apps before October, they’d move up the deadline. Grad schools aren’t deliberately cruel enough to have ‘secret’ deadlines.

I applied to a school the day before the deadline and got accepted.

But if all you need are GMAT scores and transcripts/LoRs why are you waiting until October to send it? Transcript/LoRs only take about 2-3 weeks.

thanks Variola. Yes, I plan to send my application am onth before the deadline but still I was wondering if there were students whose applications reached even before me then will I get a less look. I don’t have my GMAT score yet. I only have my transcripts. LORs are something that I’m looking into.

GMAT? That’s for business schools. Do you mean GRE general test?

No, some courses like Master’s in finance or accounting or information systems etc ask for GMAT score and not GRE since they are in the business department of the university.
