Am I literally screwed for college admission?

In sophmore year I got a 3.50 and a 3.33 for my two semesters with no honors or AP classes and in junior year now I
m passing all classes except Advance Algebra with a D which brings my gpa to a 3.5 despite taking 2 honor classes. I
m fearing now I wont make it into certain colleges with such low gpa. I
m not taking the SAT till next year and am 100% sure it will be really low due to my math skills. I
m also in several clubs Japanese, Hong Kong, Girls Health Group, and Dragon boat Club. I
ve won a medal in my 1st season of Dragon boat club and am planning to continue. I can also speak in two languages English. Chinese, and am learning Japanese right now I need to get into colleges in the state I
m in not colleges from outer states
I have done volunteer services in
Japantown festival- 1 day
Alcatraz-7 hours
Stern Grove-3 days

I need to know if colleges will accept me. I have a brother who got a 3.5 on his gpa taking no honors or AP classes in sophmore and Junior year. When a prep-college institution was looking at his gpa they said it was too low for UCs despite being in track and doing lots of volunteer services with a 1500ish SAT score. Help! :(

No, you are not completely screwed. There are other colleges outside the “CC accepted”. There’s a reason why there is a top 100…meaning, there are other schools OUTSIDE the top 100 - all very good schools.

Maybe you won’t be able to get in a top 100 school, but there are hundreds among hundreds of other schools you could apply to and get it with that GPA

Yes, true however my parents are expecting a lot from me as a 2nd child since my brother isn`t doing so good >.>

Zephyr being pedantic – of course you are not ‘literally’ screwed. Just a hint for the essays, use the word correctly.

However, to answer your question

Go Here [College Search - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_search/) pop in your stats and a bunch of colleges will pop out to start your search.

In order to answer the question you meant to ask – can you get into any of the schools that you view as targets? – we’d need to know a bit more information (such as what schools you’re thinking of, what your SATs (or at least PSAT’s) are, etc.)

Well my PSat score was 121 and the schools I
m hoping if not UC Berkely UC Davis or maybe SF State but i think I
m getting a little over head myself.

[First-Time Freshmen - How to Apply - Future Students - San Francisco State University](http://www.sfsu.edu/future/apply/freshmen.html#eligible)

If you can get a 1600 on your SAT, then I wouldn’t worry at all for UC Merced. Probably not Riverside, either.

If you can do better this year and get like an 1800, then UC Santa Cruz could be doable.

So no, not at all.
