Do you guys think I could get in? My grades are weak and I could use more awards....but I think i show that I'm really into current events and politics.....any current Middlebury students have any comments?

Do you mean Senator Chuck Schumer? If so, I assume you live in New York? Please recognize you are coming from a heavily represented applicant pool - most of the students will all have top grades, GPAs and ECs. Find something within your resume that really makes you stand out to admissions.

Yes, you have a shot - just realize that there will be many, many students who have the same SAT scores and ECs, as well as higher GPAs. Find something in your resume that sets you apart from the pack. You've increased your academic load throughout high school, and you are not slacking off senior year, which Midd will notice.

That said, it is incredibly difficult to get into Midd. I interview students for the Alumni Admissions Program, and every year I am shocked by the number of outstanding students - perfect SAT scores, top of their class, team captains, class presidents, the whole nine yards - who are not admitted. Make sure you have other schools you would be happy to attend for four years just in case; these days, it's just too hard to say for sure who will get in and who won't.

^^you could write about the derivation of your member name. A former Middlebury president, Olin Robison, was a noted Kremlinologist, and the current president was a Russian professor.

haha the name came because not long before i created an account i was made the president of student congress and i was saying to my friend "from now on- student dumma! I will rule with an iron fist" and then i came home and made the account
