<p>So for the Common App topic #1, or MIT topic #1 about an experience that seemed like the "end of the world," would it be detrimental to my app if I wrote an essay about a pet peeve, for example, having pencils not being lined up on my desk (not exactly, but similar to what I'd write about). The only concerns I have about this is
1) its not a conventional "end of the world" experience, no one is dying, no real challenge that needs to be overcome and maybe they would think I'm not taking this seriously and
2) it sort of shows a little OCD/neat freak side of me that might be seen as weird?</p>
<p>It would be a trivial topic that I would make more profound that it seems... and I've heard of people writing about their desk and such, not sure if its for their "tough experience" prompt...</p>
<p>Any thoughts?</p>
