Am I of Pomona Quality?

I am currently in the process of applying to Pomona (like many other people on this board), and was wondering how good chances I have. I was originally skeptical but my ACT score rose a bit so I am feeling slightly more confident.
Here goes

If this counts as anything, I am in the honors program at my school which counts as a "specialized curriculum".

Oh and I was wondering what different fields of study Claremont and Pomona are best at. I was thinking something around the foreign languages/cultures degree.

Thank you all very much.

Actually scratch that my Weighted GPA is somewhere between a 4.0-4.1 (not much better I know)

So how about them chances...?

bring up my post

I think you have a shot with kick ass essays

It's very iffy, unless you are also going to play sports- wrestling or swimming?

Do you mean like recruited as an athlete? I actually thinkk I MAY have a shot with wrestling depending on how I do but I wouldn't count on it

Ok just making sure the only essay Pomona offers is the "encouraged" one on the supplement form correct?

encouraged yes?

You are correct, sir.

huh? encouraged what?

I think he's asking about the "optional" essay which is the choice between the reinvent your school and the what you do for fun

More mandatory than "encouraged" though

FYI. Pomona does not field a wrestling team.

With kickass essays, it might help a lot.

Did you send your SATs? Your ACTs are much, much better and give you much better chances. I don't know how they look at both if they have both...

I just sent my ACT's. Chances?

Who knows? I'd bet money you've compared your scores/grades a bunch of times against Pomona stats; you probably have a good idea already. I know you're looking for assurance, all of us nervous seniors are.

Your ACT scores are great, your GPA is solid. Admissions offices don't use intricate algorithms to decide if students fit the college formula, though, they use biased, subjective, mistake-making human beings. All I can says is, time will tell, and with that strong of an academic record you'll get into an awesome college that will educate you very well.

Good luck, you certainly look like you're made of the right stuff for a great college like Pomona.

Nice, I second that.

Your ACT is quite high. Congratulations.

Your Math II score is unfortunately very low, especially considering the wicked curve College Board gives on that particular test. In order for you to send your SAT II tests, you will have to send everything "SAT," which includes your SAT I test. However, if Pomona does as they say they will, they will disregard your SAT I score and only acknowledge your ACT and SAT II tests.

Do you know your rank?

I've heard that when you send ACT scores, you don't need to send SATII scores.
