Hi, this is my first post, and I was not sure where to post this discussion.
I am currently finishing up my freshman year in high school. I know it’s too early to be thinking about where I want to go, but I want some opinions on how i’m doing.
I visited Purdue this summer and I really loved the school. Am I on the right track for Purdue?
Note: I go to a really competitive Catholic prep school in California. I’m in the top 20% of my class
GPA (i have no honors or ap classes)
Semester 1: 3.86
Semester 2: 3.90
History: A (Every freshman takes a semester of pe and history)
PE: A
English reg. A-/A-
Geometry reg. A/A
Religion A/A (everyone has to take religion all 4 years)
Spanish 1 B+/A-
Bio reg. A/A
Extracurriculars:
-Freshman Waterpolo
-JV swimming
-Boy Scout (getting my eagle next summer)
Next year I will be taking algebra 2, European history and Chemistry Honors. I know that I didn’t take any honors classes freshman year, and that I’m only taking 1 sophmore year. In our school honors classes are very hard to place into. (got rejected from algebra 2 honors and rejected from AP euro). I am a little worried that colleges won’t think I’m trying to take hard classes
I really enjoy science, and am interested in the field of Aerospace Engineering. By senior year, if all goes well, I will be in AP Calc AB and will have taken Bio Chem honors and 2 years of physics (Junior year honors, Senior year AP.)
I know that I’m just a freshman in high school, and things might change but If I keep similar grades, do you guys think I’m on the right track for purdue? Sorry if I’m overthinking this
