Currently a soph in high school. Have a 3.50 GPA(uw) year as of now. Was in regular classes in 9th and first half of 10th grade but will be moving to accel/honors classes next semester. Then as a Junior I will be in 2 AP classes (APUSH , AP English) and accel Physics. 3 years of foreign language. I want to get into the College of Business at U of I. I estimate my ACT will be around 25-27. Also have good EC's and Top 25% rank in class. I also got a D in my first semester in 9th grade in Algebra 2 but my school allows you to redo the class and the better grade would count. Should I do this? Also what are my chances looking like as of now? Any advice?

It’s really impressive you’re beginning to think about college as a sophomore. The biggest piece of advice I have for you is to start taking practice ACT’s NOW. The more you practice, the better you will do. It will help you in the long run. The higher your ACT score is, the more scholarship money you will be eligible for (depending on the schools you apply to, of course). Along with this, try to take more AP and honors classes. The weight of those really helps out your GPA and is VERY important in the application process. Definitely retake the class, even if you get at least a B. It will be worth it. Best of luck! (:
