Hi! I’m a sophomore in high school currently, and I wanted to know if I’m on the right track in terms of activities and grades, and other stuff for college. For extracurriculars, I tend to focus more on what I like, such as STEM, but I’m not really sure what I want to be as of now. So, I tend to try and do different things I like.
Extracurriculars:
- FTC Robotics Team (I did this last year too)
- Math Club (I participate in some competitions; hoping to do AMC this year.)
- Participating in Science Fair every year.
- JROTC (Not sure if I want to continue this since it’s a big time commitment. Advice?)
- Volunteer as a tutor for children.
- Joining my first sport in the spring - Tennis!
For my activities, I wanted to know if I could somehow research? I’m not familiar with cold-emailing professors, or even where to begin with, so advice with that would help a lot!
As for classes, I’m taking two AP’s this year, World History and Chemistry. (Any links/advice, esp. for chemistry would be great!!!) My weighted GPA is a 98.4.
So, that’s basically what I’m doing at this point! I wanted to see if I’m on the right path, and I’d appreciate any feedback! Thanks!!!
