Am I on the right track for Columbia?

I am a sophomore who will next year become a junior. I'd like people to give comments on my schedule if possible

Ap English Comp
Ap European History
Ap Psychology
AP Statistis
Executive Internship (Law office)
Spanish II
Chorus I

Possible Alternatives

Ap bio
Ap environmental science

I was worried that I might have too many Ap's on my hands. I have volleyball, sarted two clubs, debate, and I am fundraiser of the debate team. Is there anything I can do to make my schedule more impressive? I NEED straight A's next year. What Ap's should I take? Any suggestions on extracirriculares? on anything?

Taking bio instead of psychology is a more varied, stronger schedule. Psych and environmental science are kind of wimpy in high school.

It's "started" you dimwit. You don't stand a chance at Columbia!!! I hope you love community college.

Just kidding. I can't really tell if you are on track just based off of your schedule, but since you are taking demanding classes, then I'll just assume you have pretty good SAT's, and rank/gpa. Your schedule seems pretty good. It seems like your school has a lot of AP's. So don't worry about taking all of them, just the ones that you are interested in. The more you want to take the class, then the better the chance is that you'll have good grades and AP scores. If you find that you actually have an easy schedule (sometimes it happens), then you can self-study one of the other AP's, take the test, and that will be pretty impressive. Straight A's is good, but not completely necessary. I had a 3.64 gpa (unweighted), and was still waitlisted. So don't think that if you don't have a 4.0, you're automatically rejected. As for your EC's, just get into what you want to. That is the most impressive. Good luck

3.64 isn't as low as you think. It depends on the school difficulty and on class difficulty and extracurriculars and other things.

Thanks for your replies. Keep em' coming.

I have about a 3.64 and I got in regular decision without any "hooks." I have just about straight Bs in science and scattered As and Bs in everything else, yet I took the most challenging courses available and had fun and actually learned (instead of focusing on the busywork). Don't worry so much about the numbers, instead you should enjoy high school and use it as a time to get involved and find yourself. If you do, then your energy and enthusiasm about your own life will show on your app and they'll just love you. Good luck.

Yes, cure the AIDS and you should be a lock for Columbia University.
