I havent done much community service yet other than helping with organizing the school before september once, but i just applied for volunteer work at a museum. This summer, i applied for governors school for math science and technology, an internship at nasa, national leadership conference for engineering, and i might also apply for this 3 week course at stanford. All i know that i got into so far is the national leadership conference. So how good does this look?

rifelry? Wait, with firearms I suppose? Because if you fired arrows it would be archery. . . OMG i would join that sport for anything in the world!

dude, what part of NY? the ghetto? teaching life skills, i guess

hehe, just kidding. as far as your chances for those schools, you look like you're on track. however, it's hard to judge since you have no standardized test scores (sophomore PSAT doesn't really count) and no class rank.

All those music things are a HUGE plus. When you do your application, send in a solo of you performing. It will help a lot. The research stuff will also be a HUGE plus if you are accepted into the programs. The sports stuff is also good. But don't try to spend yourself too thin. Focus on what you REALLY are passionate about. Don't do things that will get you into collge. Do things you care about. The colleges will recognize this and reward you generously.

So, keep doing the good work in school. The music stuff will be very good. remember, prepare a really awesome solo and send it in with your application. Hopefully you get into those research oppurtunities. Continue with your research after the summer and through the school year. MIT will be happy to see you are so passionate about learning and science. Oh, and try to get some leadership position in a school club if you can and use this power to make a difference in your school.
