Test Scores: I have not taken the PSATs, SATs, or ACTs yet.

ECs:

-Literary Magazine (9-12; Founder/Editor-in-Chief)
-Newspaper (Editor-in-Chief (11), Managing Editor (12), Editor (10), Writer (9))
-Town Newspaper Internship (10-12)
-Library Community Service (9-12; 25 hours; hoping for 100 by the end of the summer)
-Summer Writing Workshop (10-12; Founder; through the literary magazine, the staff would host a free workshop for middle school students)

-XC (9-12; maybe varsity next year; possible captain)
-Track (9-12; Varsity-starter, letter-winner, captain)
-Track Camp (9-12; Instructor; over 80 hours of community service by senior year)

(hence the username runningwriter...most of what I do revolves around running and writing, but I do a few other things as well)

-Tennis (10-12; Varsity letter-winner in school; varsity club team out of school; year-round lessons)
-Habitat for Humanity Club (9-12)
-Math Team (10-12; varsity)
-French Club (10-12)

Colleges:
(I was hoping to apply to HYPSM, but I'm going to wait and see how my test scores are. My GPA, especially freshman year, won't help either. However, Princeton and Stanford disregard freshman year grades, so I may have a better shot there.)
-Dartmouth
-Brown
-Cornell
-Tufts
-NYU
-Middlebury
-Boston University
-Northeastern
-UMASS Lowell

Am I on track?

of course you’re on track…but its kind of worthless to attempt to chance you until you get back your scores from Sat and ACT
the no aid will def. help you at Tufts, who just ended their need blind admission…
just make sure you actually enjoy high school…don’t overwork yourself

Thanks! Any other advice?

Is my GPA going to be a problem? (especially freshman year)

I don’t think your freshman year grades will affect you tremendously. Most colleges like to see an upward trend in your grades, and as long as you keep improving every year, you’re in great shape. Your EC’s look pretty strong, so you should be in good shape.

Can you chance me back also?

Thank you!

I was thinking of applying ED to Dartmouth. Does that improve my chances there?
