Am I on the right track(sophomore)

Questions:
-Do you think I'm on the right track for going to a top twenty school?
-How much will my freshman year grades play a part in the admissions process?
-Should I be worried?

hey I’m a sophomore too. You’re doing great, The sports will really help with the top twenty colleges. Are you looking for a sports scholarship? Anyways, bring those grades up and do well on the SATs. Freshman year is important, but there was a significant improvement in one year, so colleges will be looking at that as a good thing.

Good luck :)

Good thing you have an upward trend. Some universities don’t count freshman year, so I would look into them. I’m not sure, but I heard Princeton doesn’t consider frosh year

It looks like you’re doing great. Just make sure to keep your GPA up and colleges will like the upward trend and will see that you understand you might have made a mistake in freshman year, but that you worked hard to bring your GPA up. Also, great EC’s, and I am sure you are on the right track to the top 20’s. Good luck fellow sophmore!

I’m sorry, but I think your lying. Even with all A’s I don’t see how you could of raised your GPA that much, seems impossible. Sorry.

Yeah…most of the previous posters have been a little too optimistic with their insight. The only way I see you getting out of the hole you dug for yourself freshmen year is acquiring DI status in track or cross country.

Um, or you could just apply to the schools that don’t count freshman year :D…That’s what I’m doing. (also a sophomore). Lol, all of us on this page are sophomores, haha.

The only way acceptance to a Top 20 school is realistic for you is if you apply to those that do not consider freshmen year. Anything below a 3.00/4.00 unweighted is often an automatic cause for rejection at many top schools.

even then your rank or percent will be not up to par

i think you are definitely on the right track =]
my freshman grades weren’t so hot either, but i think that sophomore/junior year grades are bigger factors in decision making…
and you might wanna think about taking on more APs, they reallly help bring up your GPA
hope that helped =] Chance me?

Make sure you get straight A’s from here on out, or else you may have to kiss your Top 20 dreams goodbye. I had a sucky freshman year (3.6 uw, 4.0 w) and even though I have gotten straight A’s with many honors and AP’s since, I am still wondering if that will come back to bite me

Probably not sorry

With your current GPA even with a 4.0 next year you will have a 3.525 GPA which is very bad for top 20 schools.

EC and a High SAT/ACT score wont cover for it.

Chance me please
