OK, Ive officially become obsessed. My DD is applying to LACs (some VERY selective and some not as much). She is a theatre/humanities person with a strong GPA but is weaker in math (As in honors when she dropped down a track in Junior year, A-/B+/Bs in advanced/AP track from Freshman/Sophomore). Also she is taking AP Stats this year instead of Calc AB (for which she is qualified) due to a scheduling conflict (that her GC will explain).

Here are her scores:

SAT I 1370 / 1600 or 2020 / 2400
CR 690
M 680
W 650
Essay 8

ACT 1st sitting composite 31
E 35
M 28
R33
S 27

ACT 2nd sitting composite 32
E36
M 26
R 33
Science 31
Essay 9

Superscored ACT composite - 32

She has taken SAT IIs (because one school requires 2) and did not do very well (US Hist 700, Eng Lit 670 and Math 1 620 I told her she should have taken Math 2 because the material was fresher but she chickened out). In any case, she is not going to retake or take any other of these tests. She is done and says if she doesnt get into that one school that requires the SAT II then so be it.

All of the schools will accept either the ACT or the SAT. For the less selective schools, I am thinking we will just send the best composite ACT score even though it has a lower math score since her composite is top 25% for those schools. These schools dont seem to superscore either.

Several of the more selective schools will superscore both the ACT and SAT and several said they will look at the best subsection scores of each test. Is it worth sending both ACT sittings to these schools even though the superscored composite is still a 32? Is it worth sending SAT also to show that she is not completely incapable when it comes to quantitative material? Im thinking a 26 (and even a 28) in math is pretty low for the most selective schools on her list (think USNWR top 10). Also, does anyone know how a 680 in math on SAT I compares to a 26 or 28 math on the ACT? I looked at concordance tables but couldnt find math broken out. And yes, I know a 680 isnt all that great either for the tippy top schools but we might as well send the best of what shes got.

A couple of schools have flexible test policies and suggest (not require) sending everything (including AP results and/or SAT IIs) and they will pick the best. DD has a 5 on APUSH and 4 on AP Euro will take more in senior year but these will not impact admission obviously.

Which scores should she send?
