Art Appreciation
College Writing 2
Freshmen Orientation (required for freshmen)
World Civ 1
Services and Volunteer (required for scholarship)
Statistics (maybe Calc 2 depending on my AP score)
Choir
Intro to New Testament

On enrollment, I wasn't really thinking; I just signed up for everything that interested me.

BTW I have a work study...so I'll be working some of the time.

Am I crazy??? If so, what classes should I drop to ease the burden of my freshmen year.

I'm majoring in mathematics ed if that helps!

Thanks so much!!

PS: My university is a smaller private school and doesn't offer Calc 2 until second semester. Should I wait one semester to take it or take it at another college??

No offense, but your 1st semester schedule looks like the typical schedule of a freshman at my HS. Lol, weird. Anyway, if there are other classes you need to take over Calc 2 in the spring, see if it's possible to take the class at your local CC. If you get there in the fall and need to drop something, drop Art. Surely you can take that later, if you HAVE to take it at all.

Thanks for the comments guys! My biggest concern is tackling finals, research papers, projects, and a work study while maintaining a good GPA. I've never really been exposed to the college environment, other than my 2 AP classes, and finals, at my high school, were never mandatory (unless you missed more than 3 days or were getting less than a C).

much love

Oh and Happy 4th!!!!

Also, art is required since I have to have two humanities credits, but I could take that later...

What's the normal course load at your college?
At most colleges it's 4 courses per term, and at those 8 courses would be close to impossible to manage. But if the regular course load is 14-16 credits for example, 18 credits won't be too bad.

I would suggest that you take some math (statistics?) either formally or on your own, so that you don't get rusty. I think your schedule looks fine. You should be able to do five classes along with choir, volunteering and the seminar.

Since you are planning to major in math, you might consider taking physics if the statistics class is full. Another choice is to retake Calc I even if you place out of it. It will be faster paced than high school, but still an easy 'A' and assure you of your readiness for Calc II.

What? lol! 18 credit hours is the maximum you can take at my school, but the minimum is only 14, so...I mean. Yeah, it looks like you'll be fine.

My classes for my first semester are...Speech, Wellness, PreCalc, Physics, Intro to Equine Science, Horse Handling and Riding, and then a sort of college-specific orientation class called "The Oiler Experience". So, my only really difficult classes will be PreCalc and Physics. I hate math, so I figured I'd get that one out of the way. I actually enjoy Physics very much and I met the professor and sat in on one of his lecture and loved him, so I signed up when I had the chance. Basically, I'm trying to knock down all my Gen Ed requirements right off the bat. Hence the Speech and Wellness classes. Yuck. And then, I'm an Equestrian Studies major, so I have an Equine Science course and a horse handling course which consists of three hours at the barn, one in the classroom, one cleaning and grooming and caring for the horses, and one riding.

Anyway, it's late and I'm babbling!

What I meant to say was...Yes, your schedule seems fine and I'm in the same boat. I have a full course load for my first semester of college. And that my Tuesdays are hellish. My day starts at 9AM with PreCalc and ends at 9PM after a 3 hour Physics lab. BLEH!
