<p>Maybe, but you might be an international student. Different states in the fifty US have different rules about who is in and who is out of state. What state?</p>
<p>I believe you have to have a green card to be eligible to file FAFSA.</p>
<p>You have to either have a green card or be a citizen to use the FAFSA to apply for federal funds. With regard to instate status…it all depends on the state. How long have you lived in the U.S? That will help determine whether you have instate residency…or not. What state do you live in?</p>

<p>As a person coming to school in NYS for the first time as a senior, you will be waived from the Global History and the Science regents. You must sit for and pass the NYS regents exams in English, Math and US history. You will have to meet course requirements which include:</p>
<p>4 credits (8 semesters) of English & pass English regents exam
4 credits (8 semesters) of Social studies - Global 1-4 (regents will be waived)
H5/H6 - Us history + pass the Regents exam, H7 government, H8 economics
3 years -6 credits in math (integrated algebra/geometry/algebra II/Trig) and pass at least one regents exam in Math
3 years- 6 credits of science (regents will be waived) 1 year of physical science + lab (chem/physics/earth science will fulfill this requirement), 1 yer of life science (Biology + lab) will fulfill this requirement and the 3rd year could be anything</p>
<p>1 year of foreign language (you will be able to fulfill this requirement)
1 year in the arts (music/art/drama/theater will fulfill this requirement)
7 elective credits
1 credit in health
8 semesters of gym</p>
