I am loving your activities and I think they show the ‘leadership’ colleges seem to salivate after these days. I wouldn’t worry too much about the SAT(I am guessing one seating, right?). Overall, you must have some safety schools but I think that you’re already in at Cornell and Vanderbilt.

As others have said, your extracurricular activities are your strong point and I think the SAT isn’t a major concern (if you want, you should definitely try in December to take it). I’d suggest cutting down on some of the top schools you aren’t as enthusiastic about because it seems your college list is most of the top-15 schools. By cutting down on the list, you still have a very good chance to get into a top school and you can focus more time on the individual supplements. good luck!

How do you have a 5.3 gpa? That doesn’t make sense

it could go many ways…internship with wasserman-shultz is good (she is so nice, I worked with her a lot - i was a page in DC, i just love her) I think if you apply ED to Penn you will get in. HYPS will be a reach as always, ECs aren’t THAT fabulous to make up for mediocre SAT.

I think you have a good chance at getting into these schools. They’re a reach for everyone, but your application sounds really solid. I know some people are saying that you need to raise your SAT scores, but to be honest I don’t think you do. You got 1440 out of 1600 for math and critical reading. Most colleges only really care about these two and once you’re above 700 I don’t think they will reject you for your SAT scores. I think some people overvalue the scores when chancing. I know people with 2400s who got rejected from their top choices and people with scores in the 2000s who got into those same schools. Once your scores are solid, colleges really care more about how much they think you’ll add to their school and, judging by your ECs, you’ll look good to them. Just make sure to emphasize with your top choices why you’re a really good fit for that particular school.

Your scores are only a minor hindrance to what is otherwise an absolutely fantastic app. Your EC’s are really strong and demonstrate a passion - something that colleges specifically look for. You have extremely solid chances for Hopkins, Penn, Brown, and Cornell and decent ones for the absolute top schools like Harvard.

Thanks for responding!

Your ECs are definitely amazing and more than good enough for those schools, but as other people have mentioned, your SAT scores are a tad low. You may still have a decent shot though depending on how well you wrote your essays. The Ivies are always unpredictable like that!

Chance me back?

Wow three days left, any more ideas?

That really is a stellar app. You’ll probably get into at least one Ivy, probably Cornell. Please post results!

I think Northwestern and Cornell are safe bets and you still have a pretty decent chance of getting into the other schools on your list. Please chance me for Texas schools in my thread :)
