am I reading too much into emails from Tech?

ok so I got an two emails from tech titled "GT Financial Aid: Apply Now" (which is just telling me to apply for financial aid" and the other email titled "Apply for a Georgia Tech Alumni Club Scholarship" (it says that "Office of Undergraduate Admission has informed us of your application to Georgia Tech."). I am almost confident that this is normal procedure to ALL aplications but do you guys think that there are other implications of this? any signs from the email or am i reading WAY too much into this?

Haha yeah thats a pretty standard email. Like you said you were reading to much into it

When you get those emails, the first thing you need to do is verify that they come from an @gatech.edu address. Sometimes banks and financing companies get the names of applicants and will send you an official looking email about financial aid that’s not official. If you fill out their form, you risk releasing vital personal information to who knows who.

As far as the club scholarship, I would definitely apply. Many local organizations give several thousands in scholarships per year, and GT matches their amount (so a $2500 club scholarship = $5000 to you)

The Alumni Scholarship for my region says : “Applications must be submitted by February 13, 2011”. It is the 12th (2minutes from the 13th)…I still have tomorrow to get it submitted, correct? Or did it have to be submitted before the 13th?

I believe you have until midnight on the 13th (today) in the time-zone of the Alumni Club.

So Midnight of the 13th? Feb 13 at 11:59 PM?

I pressed Next, with the application blank, and it said the registration was closed :(

Hmm, well I guess you needed to have it in before the 13th. They should have stated it was due by the 12th. You may be able to send an email requesting that you be allowed to submit your application today, but that is entirely at the Club’s discretion. i.e. word it nicely/don’t make it sound like they wronged you by writing the 13th as the deadline!

The application is now open. They had a system glitch that has been fixed.
