hey i just found out that i'm getting Physics B and i haven't even taken physics (regular) i decided to jump to Physics B is it that hard i heard its a huge course and will i be able to do it. I have the Blue Book Giancoli is that the best on and also what is the best prep book out there any adivce is useful>

Hmm, well in our school usually when you take AP Physics it's your first year of Physics [since soph you usually take Chem H and junior year you take AP Chem or AP Bio], and for the most part our class did really well on the tests, so... Oh and Giancoli was really helpful.

phd89 I had the same question about 5 months ago. From my responses, it is possible to take AP Physics B without general physics. I think as long as you're enrolled in pre-calculus or higher, AP Physics should be a breeze. best of luck, you'll do just fine.

i took ap physics b and ap bio this year(my sop year) and got 5's on both of them. although i had taken regular bio in my freshmen year, i didn't have any knowledges of physics before. u can do it. challenge urself

I think it depends on the teacher and class. But you should feel more confident in knowing that many schools do not even offer a first year of general physics. Oh yes, and I think it's rather ridiculous to start studying for it now as you haven't been taught any material yet. Obviously you are going in with the right mindset, just make sure you continue to work at it and you'll do well. And if you really feel like you can't handle it, you can always drop back.

dude u'll be fine . at my school EVERYONE goes straight into AP Phys B even those that don't take like any APs..
besides im going straight into AP Phsyc C without any physics foundation
so yeah
actually ill admit im kinda scared lol. but U will be fine
wish me luck!
