Am I right about this?

One of my friends is applying to Yale, and asked if I would post this question:

It's the ACT or SAT and 2 subject tests, not the ACT and 2 subject tests or the SAT and 2 subject tests.

nope, sat and three subject tests or act and 2

:) thanks I'll pass on the information

Reasons btwn SAT and ACT are the writing assessment. As to the number of additional subject tests......make sure they are not referring to one of those being a writing evaluation.

Hazmat I'm a little confused by your message. In the case of the ACT, it was taken WITH writing. Could you clarify your point?

Two different birds......you must request the ACT with writing assessment....which I don't believe is available overseas. You must request the writing portion.....register for it and take it. Does that help?

From Yale instructions::
"ACT

If you will not be taking the College Board SAT I and SAT II Subject Tests, you may substitute the examination administered by the American College Testing (ACT) Assessment Program (Code No. 0618). Yale is one of the schools that require the ACT Writing Test, so be sure to register for the ACT Assessment Plus Writing if it is available. (For example, the Writing Test is currently not available outside the United States.) If the Writing Test is not available, Yale will accept the ACT alone. Bear in mind, however, that some Yale departments use the SAT I and/or SAT II Subject Tests for course placement. October 22 is the last test date on which the ACT may be taken for Single-Choice Early Action consideration. February 11 is the last date on which the ACT may be taken for consideration under Regular Decision. There is no guarantee that the committee will receive February scores in time."

What is this talk of overseas? And the ACT WITH writing has already been taking, along with the SAT. The question is how many sat subject tests?

Ok let me try this one more time. It is right there in black and white......."if you will NOT".......so you see that part of the instruction?

you typed that while i typed up my previous message...so I hadn't read that post yet :D

and any combina-tion of three SAT II Subject Tests, or the American College Test (ACT). If you will take the ACT, understand that Yale is one of the schools that require the ACT Writing Test wherever that option is available. For students graduating from high school in 2006, Yale will also accept the "old" SAT I or the ACT taken before February 2005.

Note: if you are unclear ask again.....you need to understand and I or anyone on CC will help get you to that point. It is fine if we haven't been able to make it so you understand just let us know.....ask again if need be.

SAT Reasoning + 3 SAT Subjects

or

ACT w/ writing + 2 SAT Subjects

This is correct?

Nope.

SAT Reasoning + 3 SAT Subject tests

or

Old ACT or New ACT w/ writing
