My teacher just told me she would not be able to send out my recommendations to 4 schools by the Jan 1st dateline cause of committments. Does this mean I’m screwed at these 4 schools? My other recommendations at these 4 schools are in already.

yes. i would sue that teacher. im not joking. she made a committment regarding the future of your life, and now she may have altered it.

Colleges usually give a bit of leeway when it comes to teachers being late on the recommendations. Being a week late, maybe even 2 won't, in all likelyhood, screw you over.

From Admissions Confidential, she said that they don't care if one is missing because both usually say the same thing so if this is still true, then it shouldn't hurt you too much. If this teacher couldn't find time to help you out, then the rec might not be as great as you'd like it to be.

Colleges don't take out on students late teacher recommendations (assuming that the reccs aren't months late). However, let the college know about the situation, including how much notice you had given the teacher. And get yourself a back-up. The teacher doesn't sound like s/he gives a darn about you, so I am doubting that that their recommendation will be that supportive. Find someone who believes in you enough to do what they can to get the recc in ASAP.

Cool. Thanks guys for your replies... feel much better now.

Actually my teacher has completed the hardcopy forms I gave her but she forgot those PDF forms which you type and print. And since now everyone's on hols and she's not in school, she won't be able to complete them till school starts on the 3rd.
